An Evening With Maya Angelou Book Award Winner Threa Almontaser

Poet Threa Almontaser is reading, via Zoom, tonight at 6 p.m., CT, as part of the Maya Angelou Book Award series. Threa’s debut collection, The Wild Fox of Yemen (Graywolf Press, 2021), earned the initial prize in this series. The Maya Angelou Book Award is a venture co-sponsored by the Missouri State University English Department as well as the University of Missouri, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Truman State University, Northwest Missouri State University, Southeast Missouri State University, and the Kansas City Public Library.

Threa Almontaser is a Yemeni American author from New York City. Her work can be found in The Adroit Journal, Passages North, Diode Poetry Journal, The Rumpus, wildness, and elsewhere. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Wild Fox of Yemen has been longlisted for the National Book Award for Poetry.
